• Code outpatient medical records to ensure accurate reimbursement and data collection
• Review, analyze, and resolve hospital claim edits to facilitate timely billing
• Select appropriate diagnoses and procedures using Encoder Software and EPIC/IHIS
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to an approved work schedule
• Attend coding meetings and educational sessions to stay informed on coding guidelines

• Minimum completion of a CAHIIM approved coding certificate program or HIMT program
• Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• Familiarity or experience with computer-assisted coding and/or automated encoder
• Demonstrated coding proficiency through satisfactory completion of the coding test
• Maintain continuing education requirements as determined by relevant professional associations

• Certification as a Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or Radiation Oncology Certified Coder by AMAC
