Responsible for screening, assessing, training, and providing telephonic intervention/de-escalation for helpline callers using established protocols to determine an immediate course of action.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:Takes inbound calls, texts and chats from individuals needing support, services, or who may be in crisis.
Performs safety screenings and assessments to discern presence and acuity of risk to the safety of the individual or others.
Uses information provided by the caller and obtained during the screenings and assessments to accurately understand the individual's needs and develop a plan of action in collaboration with the individual.
Completes appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation of interactions in accordance with established criteria.
Provides linkage follow-up as directed to assure individual accessed services. Coordinates with other agencies, organizations and individuals to insure optimal use of resources, services and natural support systems.
Ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
RequirementsRequires a HS diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or a minimum of 6 months of direct crisis experience to include screenings and assessments to determine appropriate interventions; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
BS/BA degree in a mental health or other human services field and two years of experience working directly with individuals in need of behavioral health services strongly preferred. Certain contracts require a BS/BA degree.
Must be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams. Some knowledge with One Note Preferred
Experience with call center environment - a bonus
Crisis experience, ability to stay calm in difficult conversations and handle difficult personalities.
Computer skills are a must.
Attendance and dependability are expected.

Workers can be located anywhere in the state of Nevada; even outside the 50 mile Pulse Point. However, those who live within 50 miles of the Russell St office in Las Vegas and opt to work an 8am
-4:30 shift, will be required to go into the office 2 days a week per our contract with the State of Nevada. All other shift's are entirely remote.
The first 4 weeks is virtual training from 8am-4:30pm M-F. No one will be required to go into the office during that time. Following the 4 weeks of training, temps will transition into the shift they were hired for.
The call center is a 24/7 call center. Shifts will cross all times of day, and all days of week. Some shifts will ask for coverage on both weekend days; others will ask for 1 weekend day coverage.
Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
