Payroll ManagerThe Payroll Manager leads and oversees the end-to-end payroll process for the organization (approximately 1,200 employees). This position ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with all applicable laws, and timely processing. The Payroll Manager collaborates with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient payroll.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate inventory records in Oracle WMS, ensuring timely updates for all movements and adjustments to minimize discrepancies.
- Oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate bi-weekly/semimonthly payroll processing.
- Supervise and support a payroll team of two, providing mentorship, performance management, and workflow coordination.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Review and approve payroll entries, adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and tax with holdings.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, year-end processes including W-2s, and other statutory reporting.
- Partner with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts and support audits and month-end close processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Manage payroll systems and act as the point of contact for system upgrades, integrations, or vendor relationships. - Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure company practices remain compliant.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance / Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in management or senior-level role.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Ulti Pro, or similar platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
- Office setting, manufacturing floor.
- Occasional exposure to noise.
- Required to extended hours as needed.
- 10% of the time, occasional travel, or frequent travel for meetings, site visits, or events.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
