The Maintenance AI Technology Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering and continuously improving enterprise-wide training programs that accelerate adoption of digital maintenance tools, mobile technology and AI-supported troubleshooting across Newell Brands manufacturing sites globally.
Building on deep, hands‑on maintenance expertise, this individual designs curricula tailored to adult learners on the shop floor and delivers instruction in person and remotely across North American and international sites. As the enterprise subject‑matter authority on digital maintenance practices, the Global Training Lead partners with technicians, maintenance leaders and ERA/IT teams to drive measurable improvements in equipment uptime, work order quality and first‑time‑fix rates.
Responsibilities:Curriculum Design & Adult Learning
Design, develop and maintain a structured maintenance digitization curriculum — including course outlines, learning objectives, assessments and job aids — grounded in adult learning principles (e.g., experiential, competency‑based instruction).
Create and update quick‑reference guides, e‑learning modules and blended learning materials that translate complex digital tool workflows into practical, shop‑floor‑ready instruction.
Continuously evaluate and improve training content based on learner feedback, adoption metrics and evolving tool capabilities.
Adapt delivery formats and instructional approaches to diverse learner populations, including frontline technicians, lead technicians and maintenance supervisors.
Deliver instructor‑led training on‑site at manufacturing facilities globally, including hands‑on, shift‑integrated coaching sessions.
Facilitate virtual instructor‑led training via video conferencing platform for remote sites and follow‑up reinforcement sessions.
Provide real‑time floor coaching to reinforce skills immediately after formal training, bridging the gap between classroom instruction and day‑to‑day practice.
Travel globally (estimated 50% annually) to support site deployments, conduct in‑person training and assess adoption health — including travel internationally as the program expands.
Serve as the on‑site training authority during go‑live periods, providing sustained presence and support through the critical adoption window.
Develop site‑specific training plans that account for shift schedules, language considerations and local maintenance practices.
Train maintenance teams on tablets, mobile devices, CMMS platforms, digital work order workflows and AI‑supported diagnostic tools, including image‑based troubleshooting.
Serve as a primary liaison between ERA, IT, and site maintenance teams to ensure training content reflects current tool configurations and release updates.
Identify capability gaps and design targeted intervention programs to close them efficiently.
Define and track leading training indicators — learner completion, assessment scores, tool utilization rates and work order quality metrics — to demonstrate training effectiveness.
Provide structured feedback to ERA and enterprise product teams on usability, tool gaps and enhancement opportunities observed during training delivery.
Capture and codify lessons learned, success stories and site‑specific best practices to build a reusable training knowledge base scalable across the enterprise.
Contribute to regional and global maintenance excellence forums to share best practices and inform program direction.
