the secretary of state’s operations division is hiring for a supervisor, it business analyst in carson city or las vegas. This position is supporting enterprise-wide technology and business initiatives across the agency. Based full-time, in person, the it business analyst plays a leading role in advancing digital services, optimizing business processes, and supporting statewide operational improvements. Working closely with executive leadership, it, and program areas, this role brings structure, clarity, and disciplined analysis to complex initiatives, ensuring projects are well-defined, aligned with organizational priorities, and executed effectively.

Responsibilities include business process evaluation, project scoping, requirements development, project coordination, and contributing to project governance frameworks. The position also provides high-level analytical and technical guidance to project teams, vendors, and stakeholders. The it business analyst classification includes leadership responsibilities such as defining project objectives, preparing project documentation, supporting budget planning, participating in long-range planning, and helping shape policies and procedures that guide technology-enabled business operations.

The role includes supervisory responsibility for assigned staff, including coaching, performance management, work prioritization, and professional development. It also promotes consistency in business analysis and project management practices while supporting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. three or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience preferred and graduation from high school or equivalent education.

  • develop bridging specifications to program areas that interact with processes and output.
  • consult with programmers regarding the technical requirements, logic, and deficiencies of programs.
