Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claim Supervisor to lead a multi‑account claim team in our Carson City, Nevada office. This hybrid role requires regular in‑office presence to support coaching, collaboration, and daily supervisory responsibilities. The Supervisor will oversee the full investigation, evaluation, and resolution of Nevada‑jurisdiction Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and adherence to CCMSI’s Corporate Claim Standards.

This position offers a strong development pathway for future advancement into management. A Nevada Adjuster’s License is required.

Responsibilities
  • Review, assign, and oversee all workers’ compensation claim activities for designated files to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client‑specific instructions, and applicable laws.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers’ compensation claims according to established procedures and legal requirements.
  • Establish and/or manage reserves for assigned workers’ compensation claims within defined authority levels.
  • Review medical, legal, damage estimates, and other related invoices to confirm they are reasonable and connected to the claim; negotiate and resolve any disputed bills.
  • Authorize and process claim payments in alignment with claim procedures, industry standards, and within assigned payment authority.
  • Negotiate claim settlements in accordance with Corporate Claim Standards, client directives, and state regulations, when appropriate.
  • Support claim staff in selecting, referring, and supervising outside vendors (e.g., legal counsel, surveillance, case management).
  • Direct the handling of designated litigated and complex claims.
  • Provide training, education, and development support for claim staff.
  • Maintain and update personal diaries within the claim system.
  • Supervise all workers’ compensation claim activity for designated accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to Corporate Claim Handling Standards and specific client handling requirements.
Qualifications Required
  • 10+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience, including full claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution.
  • 3+ years of prior supervisory or people‑lead experience is required, preferable within Workers' Compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee adjusters in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Strong understanding of Nevada's Workers’ Compensation regulations, claim practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Active Workers’ Compensation adjuster license in Nevada or ability to obtain required licensing for Nevada within 60 days of hire, if applicable.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with adjusters, clients, and internal partners.
  • Working knowledge of entry‑ and mid‑level WC adjusting roles and workflows.
  • Reliable attendance during established client service hours for the Carson City, Nevada Branch.
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry certifications such as (Certification – e.g., SIP, WCP, AIC).
  • AIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency — highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but not required.
