Job Description

Leads and manages construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high‑quality standards. Supervises multiple project teams, offers strategic direction, and resolves issues during project cycles. Leads the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design reviews, commissioning, and problem‑solving papers. Manages quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.

Supervises site walks, directs startup and commissioning of major data center projects, and addresses risk gaps while communicating impacts to senior management. Acts as the primary contact between the company and colocation providers, negotiates and manages contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, and leads the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    Lead and manage construction of data centers; develop and maintain detailed project schedules; manage budgets; supervise multiple project teams; maintain documentation.
  • Integration and Quality Assurance:
    Manage quality control processes; oversee tenant fit‑out coordination; supervise site walks; direct startup and commissioning.
  • Risk and Problem Management:
    Evaluate risk profiles; address gaps; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
    Serve as primary contact with colocation providers; develop strategic relationships; negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Design Coordination and Improvement:
    Collaborate with design teams; provide evaluation input; lead the installation of power, cooling, networking, and cabling systems.
  • Planning & Execution:
    Manage multiple medium‑to‑large projects; set priorities; adjust plans.
  • Collaboration & Partnership:
    Drive cross‑functional partnerships; coach team members; promote inclusivity.
  • Problem Solving:
    Guide teams on complex operational and technical issues.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Engage in continuous learning; integrate best practices; identify skill gaps.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Drive process and workflow improvements.
  • Performance and Development:
    Provide feedback and coaching; manage talent acquisition pipeline.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must read, write, and speak English.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction project management or related field.
  • Knowledge of data center construction, quality control, risk management, contract negotiation, and installation of power, cooling, networking, and cabling systems.
