Position: Workforce Development Program Liaison (ROADS Program)

Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible.

WNC’s Workforce Development Program Liaison will provide leadership and coordination of the partnership with Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) on the Realizing Opportunities for the American Dream to Succeed (ROADS) Program. The program’s goal is to enhance the skills of Nevada’s workers who are unemployed and/or underemployed. The ROADS program capitalizes on the existing strengths and resources of WNC and its partners to align training with industry demands and industry-determined priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide community outreach and work with the Advancement Team managers to administer the ROADS program.
  • Accomplish key operational and program tasks related to contract‑funded project activities in support of ROADS students and partners.
  • Ensure contract accountability for the ROADS project, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and tracking of contract and system requirements such as billing and purchasing.
  • Create quarterly progress reports for DETR’s designated contract manager.
  • Drive contract deliverables such as recruitment of special student populations motivated to enhance their careers through new skills.
  • Conduct student recruitment and retention activities and support screening and evaluation of applicants via an online program application.
  • Initiate and sustain communications with students throughout program enrollment to foster retention and referral to wrap‑around services.
  • Coordinate and track participant progress, identify obstacles through needs assessments, and deploy ROADS resources to support student success.
  • Act as primary point of contact for new and continuing students to apply for and enroll in programs and classes, and liaison between college services and processes.
  • Serve as primary employer liaison with HR offices, business owners, and recruiters to provide hiring data, job openings, and coordinate hiring events.
  • Manage and develop relationships with agencies, individuals, and employers to match WNC capabilities to training needs.
  • Interview industry representatives to inventory their needs and employment offerings, and facilitate job shadowing for applicants.
  • Manage relationships with partners such as JOIN, Job Connect, and other agencies related to employee training and hiring.
  • Train recent ROADS graduates and community members to mentor participants as volunteer support staff.
  • Collaborate with college departments on contract matters and processes that facilitate efficient, high‑quality operations.
  • Develop and deliver outreach and engagement activities, including marketing strategies and social media posts, to recruit and retain students.
  • Represent WNC at community events to promote workforce development opportunities through the ROADS program.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of related professional experience. Equivalent education and experience (e.g., AA plus four years of related experience) may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. A minimum of an associate’s degree is required.

Salary

This position is at salary grade

C. The minimum of the placement range is $73,531.55. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. Placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule.
