Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Swiss Lathe Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce high-quality metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience working with tight tolerances and a strong understanding of machining processes.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate Swiss CNC lathes for production runs
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments
- Monitor machine performance and ensure parts meet quality standards
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety and company procedures
- Previous experience operating Swiss CNC lathes (Star, Citizen, Tsugami, etc. preferred)
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
- Ability to read blueprints and work with tight tolerances
- Experience with measuring instruments and quality inspection
- Basic CNC programming/editing knowledge is a plus
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- 2+ years of CNC or Swiss machining experience
- Experience working with steel or other metals
- Familiarity with high-volume or precision manufacturing environments
- Steady Monday–Friday schedule
