NDT X-Ray Trainee
The NDT X-Ray Trainee is responsible for performing radiographic testing (RT) to evaluate aerospace castings for internal defects. This role ensures product quality by operating X‑ray equipment, preparing and positioning parts, interpreting radiographic images, and maintaining accurate inspection records.
You’ll work in compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and NADCAP standards, with opportunities to grow through a structured trainee‑level 3 career path based on certification, experience, and technical expertise.
Responsibilities Radiographic Inspection Operations- Preparing and positioning castings for inspection
- Operating X‑ray equipment using approved techniques and safety procedures
- Processing film or digital images and ensuring proper traceability
- Interpreting technique cards, specifications, and procedures
- Maintaining inspection records and lot traceability
- Ensuring compliance with NAS 410, NADCAP, and customer requirements
- Performing daily system checks and verifying equipment readiness
- Maintaining calibration status of inspection equipment
- Keeping the NDT area clean and organized (6S)
- Handling parts carefully to ensure protection and traceability
- Meeting production goals, cycle times, and inspection throughput targets
- Following all radiation safety and plant safety procedures
- Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Supporting department and business objectives as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, and pull for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (heavier with assistance)
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments (heat, noise, dust, chemicals)
- Repetitive motion required for handling and processing parts
- Must meet visual acuity requirements for NDT certification
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
- Pay Range: $19-$20/hour (Higher pay bands for already certified NDT X‑Ray applicants)
