Position: Production Technician I - Swing Shift

Actively processes, packages or assembles parts by hand; often utilizing hand tools and manual or automated machines. Follows safety and company procedures to meet quality and production standards. While supporting the team, can expect to work individually or in a group. Processes may involve sitting or standing for major portions of the shift. Will gain experience reading drawings, performing computer transactions and data collection.

Follow standard procedures outlined in the Work Instructions to ensure efficient workflow and that the product is of the highest quality and the work environment is safe.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Cooperates with Supervisor, Lead and co-workers toward meeting company goals.
  • Displays a willingness to follow direction and be flexible when assigned varying jobs.
  • Works alone and in a team environment with changing assignments.
  • Performs repetitive tasks by hand, hand tools, and manual or automated machines including processing, cleaning, deburring, assembling, fixturing, counting, bagging and boxing a variety of part types.
  • Reports immediately any machine or process challenges and all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a Lead or Supervisor.
  • Has a working knowledge of applicable part numbers, materials and processes.
  • Can read drawings and work orders.
  • Performs dimensional inspection of key characteristics and other attributes.
  • Uses basic computer skills to complete work order requirements and verify count operations.
  • Accurately and clearly completes all required documentation.
  • Applies and develops lean work practices.
  • Completes other duties as requested, directed or assigned, including re-assignment to other work areas that call for these skills.
  • Understands and observes all safety guidelines and ensures quality and safety by complying with all appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard‑free work areas.
  • Can work with minimal supervision, is a self‑starter, and is detail oriented.
Qualifications
  • Meets the requirements of a Production Assistant.
  • Has a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Has excellent hand‑eye coordination.
  • Can maintain uninterrupted engagement with duties for periods up to 4 hours.
  • After training, performs duties from recall, written instructions and visual aids.
  • After training, correctly selects and accurately uses measuring and assembly tools.
  • After training, applies knowledge to operation setups.
  • Supports team members by assisting in their assignments when directed.
  • Can perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, fractions and metric conversions.
  • Applies knowledge of general safety and organization (6S), Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) requirements.
  • Applies knowledge of Quality and Environment Management System (QEMS).
  • Writes and reads English proficiently.
Education And/Or Experience
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
  • National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC).
  • Certifications in manufacturing such as Manufacturing Technician (MT1) or equivalent – a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Light physical effort, frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous use of hand/fingers to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Requires close, peripheral, and depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of the shift, bend, and reach.
  • Can hear typical verbal instructions and common mechanical noises indicative of safe practices.
