Shift and Pay
Shift: 3rd shift, Monday-Friday 8:00pm-6:30am and overtime as needed.
Pay: $33.83 per hour + shift differential of $1.50 per hour.
SummaryThe primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent and effective electrical and mechanical maintenance support to the plant and facility operations in a safe manner. The mechanic will maintain, adjust, and repair plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF, and local governments. The position requires a flexible schedule focused on preventive maintenance and production support and reports to the maintenance manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain operations equipment following lockout/tagout (LOTO), GMP, and food safety practices in a quick and efficient manner.
- Install and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, formers, case erectors, wrappers, X‑ray units, metal detectors, mixers, and industrial‑sized ovens.
- Follow work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
- Work safely with electricity and have experience with single‑phase and three‑phase circuits; working with 480 V is required.
- Read and use blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and various types of standard testing equipment; fabricate metal to an acceptable level.
- Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test, and make final adjustments for high‑speed production equipment.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufacturer specifications while following preventive maintenance, work orders, and scheduled PMs in a CMMS program.
- Maintain a clean and efficient parts inventory; notify of stock depletion for reorder in CMMS.
- Use lathes, mills, bandsaw, drill press, etc., as required to repair or fabricate parts.
- Complete PMs efficiently and thoroughly.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and other appropriate equipment.
- Maintain current GMP, SQF, and food safety practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience as an industrial production mechanic; experience in food production is a plus.
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift if required and flexibility to work overtime and weekends on a business‑need basis.
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required. Complete working knowledge of the manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and energized equipment. The noise level in the work environment varies depending on tasks.
