Position: 2nd shift Maintenance Technician II New Carson City, Nevada, United States

Shift: 2nd shift Tuesday-Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm and Saturday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Pay: $33.83/hr plus shift differential of $1.50/hr

SUMMARY

The primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is to provide competent & effective Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance support to the Plant and Facility operations in a SAFE manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing plant machinery to meet industry standards while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF and Local Governments.

The position will require a flexible schedule focusing on preventive maintenance and production support. This role reports to the maintenance manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain operations equipment following LOTO, GMP and food safety practices in a quick efficient manner.
  • Install and/or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, formers, case erectors, wrappers, x‑ray units, metal detectors, mixers and industrial sized oven.
  • Follow work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Work safely with electricity and have experience with single and 3‑phase circuits. Working with 480V is required as well.
  • Read and use blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, required tools, and various types of standard testing equipment with the ability to fabricate metal to some acceptable level.
  • Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high speed production equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with diagrams and manufacturer's specifications while following preventative maintenance, work orders and scheduled PMs in a CMMS program.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient parts inventory while notifying of stock depletion for reorder in CMMS.
  • Use lathes, mills, bandsaw, drill press, etc. as required to repair parts or fabricate parts as needed.
  • Complete PMs efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissors lift, and other appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain current GMP, SQF, Food Safety practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience working as an experienced level Industrial Production Mechanic, Food production a plus.
  • Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift if required with flexibility to work overtime and weekends on business need requirements.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Complete working knowledge of the manufacturing process, typically resulting from a minimum of 3 years of experience in related jobs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and energized equipment. The noise level in the work environment varies depending on tasks.

The employee regularly required to talk or hear, frequently sit, occasionally stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This is a Full Time Non‑Exempt position 40 hour per week, and it may require working additional hours depending on business need.
