Shipping & Receiving Assoc I

Responsible for various tasks relating to the receipt, storage, movement and shipment of internal and external customer orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verify accuracy of documentation and materials for inbound and outbound package, LTL and freight shipments.

Ensures safe and efficient movement of goods and materials by hand or forklift.

Utilize multiple transportation vendor systems, as well as customer required.

Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.

Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures.

Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.

Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

Basic computer navigation skills.

Ability to type 40+ words per minute.

Basic understanding of warehouse practices.

Ability to write and read English.

Prior experience operating a forklift is a plus.

Forklift certification is a plus.

EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).General warehousing and shipping experience is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is not a supervisory position.

Team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50+ pounds with the assistance of proper machinery.

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and reach for duration of shift.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Protective eyewear and/or hearing are required when near or in a production area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

May be exposed to noise, smells, dust, etc.

Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.

May occasionally be tasked with handling hazardous materials.
