The Source Inspector (SI) is responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspection of in‑process or completed hardware. The SI verifies First Article Inspections (FAIs) against AS9102, reviews related documentation, interprets blueprints, and applies GD&T (ASME Y14.5). The role requires familiarity with hand tools, gaging techniques, and CMM inspection processes. The SI travels to end‑customer supplier locations and performs Final, Receiving, Outside Processing, and Assembly inspections.
Job Responsibilities- Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
- Perform FAIs – AS9102
- Use hand measurement tools and CMM inspection processes
- Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation
- Conduct final, receiving, and assembly inspections (dimensional, visual, surface finish, assembly)
- Read, interpret, and utilize quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation
- Process warehouse materials
- Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines/procedures
- Support corrective actions and root cause identification
- Other duties as assigned
- Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components

- Hand measurement tools and conventional inspection to engineering requirements
- MS Outlook and Excel experience
- GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
- Quality inspection tools and equipment implementation
- RCCA and problem‑solving experience
- Handle complex situations and solve problems
- Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Analyze technical and business information
- Work in a team with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time
- Fluent English – reading and writing required
- Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong independent decision‑making and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Simultaneously manage several objectives
- Detail oriented, organized, and self‑motivated
- 3+ years’ experience as a quality inspector or technician
- 3+ years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- 3+ years’ experience in inspection duties, FAIs, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Effective communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Any combination of education and experience may be considered
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Other Factors
:
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional extended hours and weekend overtime. Employee may stand, walk (1–2 miles a day), sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Occasionally drive long distances to suppliers. Occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds. Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral vision and focus adjustment. Noise level moderate to high.
