Job Summary

The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance programs to ensure products are manufactured in compliance with established standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring standardized processes support strategic, customer, and regulatory requirements. The position oversees quality personnel, ensures process and product compliance, leads data analysis and root cause investigations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance objectives aligned with corporate policies and goals.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) and documentation control structure.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Conduct and oversee internal audits and support external audit activities.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation, including design records, purchasing documents, and vendor quality manuals.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical methods to monitor and improve processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities, including NCRs and supplier corrective actions.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct supplier audits.
  • Review quality data and determine product or vendor acceptance in collaboration with management.
  • Support engineering change requests, requisitions, product validations, and management review processes.
  • Oversee inspection and testing activities, including tensile testing and material certification review.
  • Manage calibration systems and quality-related equipment oversight.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and deliver quality and manufacturing training programs.
  • Promote environmental compliance and a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Prepare and present technical and quality performance reports to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, professional journals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to leadership and customers.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis, sampling theory, process capability, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex variables.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing quality.
  • Aerospace industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Quality Assurance personnel, including inspectors, technicians, and engineers.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Oversee departmental direction, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
