Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Safety Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to serve as a Safety Technician responsible for supporting site safety compliance and assisting with the installation, testing, and maintenance of advanced smart metering systems.

• Conduct audits and inspections of work areas, machinery, equipment, and working conditions for compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
• Report incidents of noncompliance to codes and standards, and may recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up to confirm implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure the availability, readiness, and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies.
• Maintain records of safety audits and inspections, as well as required follow up actions.
• Maintain inventory of first aid, safety, and fire equipment. If properly certified in first aid may function as first aid attendant, providing first aid care to occupationally injured or ill personnel.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations, daily safety huddles and weekly toolbox training.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate including testing and troubleshooting advanced smart meters.

• Demonstrated experience conducting safety and quality inspections on construction projects in compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 standards.
• Ability to maintain thorough documentation and prepare regulatory safety and quality reports.
• Competence in investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Capability to perform functional testing and troubleshooting of advanced smart meters and related equipment.

• Proven ability to lead and inspire a culture of safety and quality on dynamic construction sites.
• Strong technical aptitude for learning and applying advanced smart meter technologies.
• Excellent communication skills for training teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Careful attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing site issues.
