Senior Quality Engineer
At Chromalloy Carson City, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. Our teams manufacture and repair critical turbine engine components used throughout the global aerospace industry. What You'll Do
- Lead root cause investigations using 8D, RCCA, SPC, and other problem-solving methodologies
- Partner with production teams to identify, contain, and resolve quality issues
- Analyze process and inspection data to improve quality, yield, and operational performance
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Support MRB activities and nonconformance investigations
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Drive scrap reduction, rework reduction, and First Pass Yield improvements
- Support internal and external audits, quality system compliance, and certification requirements
- Work with suppliers and customers to resolve quality-related concerns
- Develop quality metrics, reports, and statistical analyses to support business objectives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field)
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D, and problem-solving methodologies
- Experience using SPC and statistical tools to drive process improvement
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
- Experience working directly with production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience with AS9100, FAA, Part 145, Part 21, or other regulated quality systems
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Experience with yield improvement, scrap reduction, and process optimization projects
- Supplier Quality and MRB experience
- Familiarity with machining, EDM, NDT, inspection processes, or turbine engine components
- Experience with Minitab, QDAS, and statistical analysis tools

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
