Beauty Advisor

Overview

As a Beauty Advisor (BA) at Ulta Beauty, you will provide an exceptional experience for all guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, performing cashier tasks, keeping merchandise stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing tasks as assigned. The BA supports leadership through a focus on performance, guest service, and processes.

Performance

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Provide exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, answering product questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and the guest experience.
• Book appointments and support in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while achieving sales goals.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, understanding ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

• Create an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share benefits of the loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training—including brand and category education—to develop professionally and drive sales performance.

Process

• Know and enforce Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow the dress code and maintain store standards and cleanliness.
• Ensure assigned work area is replenished, organized, and facing correctly.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using Ulta Beauty technology.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• High school diploma (preferred).
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
• Passion for guest service and selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology, such as Point of Sale and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
• Continuous or frequent lifting, carrying, and moving up to 25 lbs.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. Salary is based on relevant education, qualifications, experience, level, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime where required by law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
