Responsibilities
- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including system start‑ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door for deliveries.
- Process product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Cooperate with and train team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the back door for vendor deliveries.
- Register all sales on the assigned cash register, record scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist management in reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics, developing displays, and inventory management.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and perform basic department pricing, including daily price changes and signage updates.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
- Help maintain the store’s exterior and interior condition, request repairs, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Perform bag checks of team members before leaving the store and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Greet customers and patients, offer assistance with products and services, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Hold store keys to open and close without management when necessary.
- Coach team members on the warehouse and vendor ordering process and ensure proper handling of returns and empty packages.
- Develop and evaluate displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts in specified locations and ensure the outdate program is followed.
- Assist with food item separation, product placement, and stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method.
- Possess working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Assist at the pharmacy out window and ensure compliance with regulations for regulated products.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
- Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks when management is absent.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder experience.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
