Position Summary
We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. They greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.
The role involves a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.
Hourly wage: $15.00 to $18.00 per hour. Employees earn commission based on productivity (up to 8% on transactions), which could average an additional $2.72 per hour on top of the hourly rate.
Responsibilities- Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
- Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
- Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies.
- Answers incoming calls per company standards.
- Effectively communicates to customers the legal aspects of the pawn and buy transactions.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
- Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Successfully completes assigned training.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
- Employees may be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior locations.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Should be able to work in multiple locations, as business needs dictate.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate Point‑Of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

- Best working hours:
Most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays. - Earned Wage Access program (up to 50% of wages earned up to seven times in a payroll cycle).
- Unlimited commission above hourly base rate.
- Paid vacation: one week after six months of active full‑time service; an additional week after one year; two weeks after each anniversary thereafter; up to 120 hours after five years.
- Sick/Personal time: 8 hours after six months; 16 hours each subsequent anniversary for years 2‑5; up to 24 hours after five years.

Employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed plan information will be provided during the interview process.
