Reports to: Workforce Services Program Manager

The Workforce Services department provides pre-employment services that empower participants to enter or re-enter the labor market. Workshops, support groups and networking, one-to-one personal or vocational counseling, training, job-seeking and job-keeping methods, leadership development, decision-making skills development and assistance with developing an action plan are among the resources used to help participants build confidence, identify skills and seek training or employment.

The DH Career Coach/Facilitator, reporting to the Workforce Services Program Manager, is responsible for developing individualized education, workshop, and employment plans for program participants. This role conducts career assessments and skills testing, provides one-on-one career coaching, and supports participants in achieving their employment and career goals.

The Career Coach/Facilitator maintains accurate client files and database records, schedules appointments, updates participant information, and assists clients with online job searches and career exploration. This position also assists walk-in job seekers by conducting initial assessments, determining service needs, and providing appropriate workforce services, resources, and referrals. In addition, the Career Coach connects DH clients with community resources and partner organizations through meaningful referrals to address employment and supportive service needs.

The DH Career Coach carries a participant retention caseload, providing ongoing follow-up, monitoring participant progress, documenting outcomes, and delivering retention services to support continued employment, training completion, and long-term career success.

Additionally, the DH Career Coach develops, coordinates, and facilitates workforce development workshops that enhance participants' job readiness, career planning, and professional skills.

• Assess individual’s program qualifications, career/employment interests, abilities and aptitudes, and employment skills assessments.
• Enrolls eligible clients into DH program and MIS database HMIS.
• Assists participants with development of resumes, completing career assessments and developing an Individual Employment Plan or Individual Service Strategy Plan, addressing how to manage barriers in the career/employment context.
• Address barriers related to employability, such as soft skills, technical skills, social and behavioral skills and assist with educational and occupational choices.
• Promote HELP programs and provide meaningful referrals to clients as needed.
• Provide resources/sources of career and employment opportunities.
• Assist with completing online job applications and job searches.
• Input client notes related to their employment or training progress into HMIS.
• Complete clients follow up activities.
• Develop an extensive understanding of community resources as they relate to employment and provide ongoing referrals to clients as needed.
• Track client programming and activities, and assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as required.
