The Nevada Department of Transportation is recruiting a Transportation Planner/Analyst Trainee for the Traffic Information Division in Carson City. This entry-level position involves collecting, processing, and analyzing traffic recorder data; maintaining the Jackalope database; coordinating with division sections on sensor needs; and reviewing plans for sensor placement on new projects. The incumbent may progress to Transportation Planner/Analyst I after meeting qualifications and performance standards.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, planning, math, geography, economics, statistics, or related field; or equivalent education and experience
- High school graduation with four years of experience collecting, compiling, analyzing and reviewing data
- Four years of experience as a Transportation Technician II or three years as a Transportation Technician III in Nevada State service
- Valid driver's license required at time of appointment
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Experience with transportation data collection, processing, analysis, and traffic data software
