What you will be doing:
- Develops plans based on customer specifications
- Provides rate quotes to clients
- Reviews processes and implements new procedures
- Assists teams in resolving Customs and carrier issues
- Prepares and monitors various Customs compliance and broker management reports
- Trains, coaches, and supervises team members
- Manages Post Entry reviews and performs audits
- Utilizes understanding of the proper processes to resolve problems according to industry standards
- Monitors AP/AR discrepancies and addresses accounting issues
- Addresses disciplinary and performance issues and complaints as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity
- Customs Broker License preferred
- Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather
conditions.
