SummaryThe Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the strategic sourcing function by managing specific spend categories to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and value creation.
This role is responsible for supporting internal departments in identifying procurement needs and aligning them with supplier capabilities and market opportunities to develop and execute effective category strategies. The Sourcing Specialist will work closely with stakeholders to understand specific requirements, lead the RFP process including drafting, distribution, evaluation and facilitate collaborative supplier selection. This includes coordinating cross-functional input, analyzing proposals, and ensuring sourcing decisions align with business objectives and procurement best practices.
The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with sourcing expertise to optimize procurement decisions, support contract negotiations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the sourcing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies based on market intelligence, supplier analysis, and internal stakeholder needs.
- Conduct spend analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities across assigned categories.
- Support sourcing events including RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations, ensuring alignment with procurement policies and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into sourcing strategies.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance and recommend corrective actions or improvements as needed.
- Maintain category-specific dashboards and reports to track KPIs, savings, and supplier metrics.
- Assist in contract development, negotiation, and management for assigned categories.
- Stay informed on industry trends, pricing dynamics, and emerging suppliers to inform sourcing decisions.
- Support the implementation of sourcing tools and systems to improve data visibility and process efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to foster collaboration and long-term value.
- Establish and adhere to standards of business conduct and integrity consistent with the Company's code of conduct, which are applicable to all vendors with whom Company does business.
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures and requirements are met according to applicable guidelines.

- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., MS D365, Coupa, Oracle, SAP) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Knowledge of contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
- 5 - 7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management.
- Experience in a mid-to-large scale organization or matrixed environment preferred.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and to convey technical concepts effectively to non-technical people. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to compose and write proposals, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in front of groups.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, TMS, and construction procurement systems and tools.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsProfessional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) are highly desirable.
