What you will be doing:
  • Develops plans based on customer specifications
  • Provides rate quotes to clients
  • Reviews processes and implements new procedures
  • Assists teams in resolving Customs and carrier issues
  • Maintains positive customer relationships
  • Prepares and monitors various Customs compliance and broker management reports
  • Trains, coaches, and supervises team members
  • Manages Post Entry reviews and performs audits
  • Utilizes understanding of the proper processes to resolve problems according to industry standards
  • Monitors AP/AR discrepancies and addresses accounting issues
  • Addresses disciplinary and performance issues and complaints as needed
  • Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone Regulations FTZ (19 CFR 146) and Customs Brokerage Requirements
  • Processes daily FTZ transactions for transmittal to Custom including CBP Form 214 Admissions, CBP Form 7512 in‑bonds, CBP Form 216 Annual and individual permits, CBP Form 349 Harbor Maintenance Fee
  • Zone to zone Transfer
  • Weekly 7501/3461 Estimates
  • Reconcile daily inventory balances using QAD
  • Annual Zone Reconciliation
  • POC – CBP onsite Audits, internal compliance, action plan
  • Communicates with specified government agencies, customer, carriers, and operations on all issues affecting customs brokerage and FTZ
  • Ensures compliance with regard to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife, etc.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Customs Broker License preferred
  • Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
