Position Description

The School of Nursing at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized nurse applicants for a pool of part-time teaching appointments.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned online undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral courses in the department’s nursing curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load. Engage in activities to maintain currency in the field such as clinical practice, coursework, conference attendance, and continuing education classes. Clinical instructors have additional responsibilities related to the clinical site, student compliance with clinical agency requirements, oversight of the student, and communication with the preceptors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Appropriate experience related to the subject of the course(s) assigned.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching adult learners from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
• A Doctoral degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
• Experience teaching online.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. Salary and Benefit Information

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.
