Position Description
The Department of Liberal Studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites well‑organized applicants with experience teaching diverse undergraduate students for temporary part‑time teaching appointments.
Applicants should be able to work with students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to the university’s mission.
Temporary Faculty PoolThe pool remains open, filling positions as needed; candidates may be required to begin teaching on short notice.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned upper‑division courses in the department’s curriculum and hold weekly office hours based on the assigned teaching unit load.
- A bachelor’s degree in a field related to the curriculum or a related discipline.
- Preference given to candidates with prior college or university teaching experience and evidence of strong teaching skills.
- Experience teaching undergraduate students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- A master’s degree in a field related to the curriculum or a related discipline.
- A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience required for teaching upper‑division core courses (300‑ or 400‑level).
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including criminal records) is required. The conditional offer may be rescinded if disqualifying information is found or if the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
Salary and Benefit InformationThe initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background, with most new lecturers hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
