Position: Temporary Faculty Pool, Education Leadership for Justice (ELJ) Program (Ed.D. Degree)

Position

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.

We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student‑centered to teach Doctoral level courses in the Educational Leadership for Justice (ELJ) Program.

Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid‑December;
Spring term begins mid‑January and ends in mid‑May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the ELJ Program.
  • Collaborate and work closely with ELJ full‑time and part‑time faculty.
  • Support students in writing and research responsibilities; provide consistent and effective guidance through teaching, modeling, and mentoring.
  • Serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
Required Qualifications
  • Must hold a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Leadership or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior P‑12, community college, or university‑level teaching experience and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Current knowledge and experience with policies and initiatives affecting K‑12, community college, and higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
  • Awareness and experience working with and understanding the needs of an adult learner population who are working professionals of diverse age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation.
  • Experience teaching and working with colleagues from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior university‑level teaching experience and relevant industry experience.
  • Committed to just, equitable, and inclusive education.
  • Demonstrated experience using anti‑racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.
  • Active in professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of the Ed.D. program.
  • Experience in Educational Leadership.
Employment Requirement

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. The conditional offer of employment may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information.

Salary and Benefit Information

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department.

Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
