Security Specialist

Hourly Rate: $21.25 USD per hour.

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner, leveraging video surveillance and case management systems.
• Conduct de‑escalation and support for guests and team members, including safety and crowd management.
• Perform merchandise theft recovery and assistance in apprehension, following AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe standards throughout the store.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
• Assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• All other duties as assigned based on business needs.

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and remain focused in a fast‑paced environment.
• Capability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift and to perform tasks in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
• Participants must be able to climb ladders and lift or move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
• Open to a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times.

• Use Target's video surveillance system effectively.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Respond appropriately to guest issues to provide a safe and secure environment for team members and guests.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents across the store.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
