Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a growing, dynamic organization, is seeking a Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our award‑winning Special Education team.
As the Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), you will provide high‑quality speech therapy services customized to meet the individual diagnoses and needs of students at multiple Spectrum School locations, including direct instruction, prescriptive evaluation, parent consultation, writing IEP goals, monitoring progress, attending IEP meetings, and collaborating with educational teams.
Responsibilities- Evaluate students to identify speech-language therapy needs and determine appropriate levels of service.
- Develop and implement individualized speech therapy plans based on assessment findings, strengths, and objectives.
- Set collaborative, student-centered goals with families, educators, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Monitor progress with data-driven assessments, adjust plans, and provide detailed progress reports.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy using evidence-based strategies.
- Document sessions and clinical observations accurately and promptly to ensure compliance with policies and state regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive case records and submit authorized documentation and billing within 24 hours of delivery.
- Communicate proactively with families regarding schedules, changes, and progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and related service providers to generalize therapy goals into daily routines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and regional conferences to share insights and inform recommendations.
- Offer clinical support and strategies to program teams for consistent implementation of therapy goals.
- Mentor educators and staff to build clinical capacity.
- Conduct and/or oversee client intakes and comprehensive assessments.
- Oversee quality and consistency of speech therapy services across locations, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Maintain clinical excellence through supervision, staff development, and knowledge sharing.
- Build trust and rapport with clients, caregivers, and families to empower student success.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed of emerging practices.
- Travel regularly between assigned locations; occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Perform additional responsibilities or projects as requested by program directors or regional VP.
- Master’s degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
- Licensed SLP or in the process of obtaining an SLP credential.
- Preferred: CA state special education instruction credential.
- Valid CA state driver’s license.
- Certification in crisis management training.
- Experience providing speech therapy to children in special education or behavioral health programs.
- Knowledge of special education services, compliance, and effective teaching strategies.
- Skill in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and other related disabilities.
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans at various levels.
- Ability to motivate students toward realistic goals and have critical conversations.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with students, parents, teachers, and partners.
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and office suite, database entry, and basic equipment.
