Amtec Staffing has partnered with a well-established rough carpentry / wood framing contractor to find an experienced Wood Framing Project Manager to support their growing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor known for delivering high-quality rough carpentry and wood framing solutions across large-scale commercial and multi-unit residential projects.
Project Types About the RoleAs a Wood Framing Project Manager
, you will oversee rough carpentry and wood framing projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires a strong technical background in wood framing, cost control, scheduling, and field coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage multiple rough carpentry and wood framing projects concurrently from award through completion
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and pricing
- Review drawings, specifications, and revisions; price changes and manage change orders
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, productivity, safety, and quality
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and other trades
- Identify and resolve jobsite challenges before they impact schedule or profitability
- Track job costs, labor, materials, and production efficiency
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and assess troubled job conditions early
- Review and approve invoices and change orders in accordance with contract terms
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Provide regular project updates and address concerns proactively
- Lead and mentor project teams and junior staff
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship
- Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and productive work environment Qualifications Experience
- 10+ years of project management experience in rough carpentry / wood framing
- Strong background in commercial and multi-unit residential construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Extensive industry experience (15+ years) may substitute for formal education
- Deep knowledge of wood framing methods, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Procore, Bluebeam, Plan Swift, On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or similar software
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Department management experience is a plus
