Senior Manager, Logistics – Safran Cabin – Carson, CA – Permanent full‑time position. Salary: $103,970–$163,380. Requirement:

Job Description

Oversees all material handling and movements within the site, ensuring timely flow of material and purchased parts across receiving, kitting, cycle counting, put‑away, shipping, and outside processing. Accounts for inventory accuracy, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform daily management of logistics functions and track performance to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Develop and document work procedures; prepare work schedules and maintain adequate staffing to support manufacturing and planning requests.
  • Ensure compliance with SAFRAAN Standards for cycle‑count accuracy and completeness.
  • Plan stockroom layout considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors.
  • Align stockroom processes with continuous‑improvement initiatives within manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement plans to manage and reduce freight in and freight out costs year over year.
  • Establish and/or oversee required training.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and take appropriate action to meet objectives.
  • Develop and implement business processes within Logistics that improve overall supply‑chain performance, satisfy current demands, and minimize total costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
  • Must be organized, possess time‑management skills, and be able to adapt to priority changes.
  • Develop and implement processes that improve performance, stockroom accuracy, and satisfy manufacturing/repair demand, including:
    • Parts receiving and put‑away
    • Manufacturing and customer‑order picking
    • Furnished material/distribution/transfer picking
    • Stock management including cycle counting
    • Packing & shipping
    • Shop‑floor consumables management
    • Vendor‑managed inventory
  • Perform staffing level analysis and implement plans to support manufacturing, repairs, and shipping needs.
  • Communicate department activities and strategies in conjunction with site leadership direction.
  • Serve as a member of the site leadership team.
  • Assisted on other projects as assigned, and available to assist in other areas of the company as directed by site leadership.
Job Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4years without degree).
  • Experience:

    10+ years in warehouse/shipping/receiving operations and 5+ years in a managerial role.
  • Experience managing inventory to reduce cash balances while maintaining high customer service.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Expert knowledge of MRP/ERP, purchase order and manufacturing order processes, and inventory management practices.
  • Expert understanding of material‑management operational concepts: production planning, inventory control, purchasing, stockroom operation, and shipping/receiving.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Extensive experience with manufacturing processes.
  • Organized, strong time‑management skills, and ability to adapt to priority changes.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and lead required projects.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills at all levels.
  • Problem‑solving, well organized, detail oriented, accurate.
  • Self‑starter who can drive improvement and meet objectives on schedule.
  • Customer‑service oriented.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • APICS certification.
  • Experience leading projects demonstrating financial improvements (cash or cost savings).
  • Experience with M3 or similar ERP systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes.
