Position Summary
Assemble and test parts within the marine product line.
Responsibilities- Integrate pre-built control panels into equipment skids with multiple electrical enclosures, following electrical schematics, component wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Wire low voltage circuits (4‑20 mA analog signals, 5‑32 V DC power/signals, Modbus serial and Ethernet communications) and higher voltage circuits (100‑260 V AC single & 3‑phase power cords and servo motors).
- Install and wire door‑mounted and side‑mounted components (pilot devices, displays, cable entries/seals, etc.) on stainless steel frames/enclosures; mount additional components onto panels as needed.
- Work with the assembly team to assist with the installation of mechanical components of a skid when required.
- Perform quality checks, hipot tests, start‑up equipment, and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Follow work instructions to initialize the PLC, HMI, servo drives, and other components.
- Conduct electrical schematic walk‑downs with the customer during Factory Acceptance Testing and redline the schematic as needed.
- Assist with final troubleshooting and complete any electrical changes or rework during Factory Acceptance Test.
- Perform quality checks of UL 508A control panels from outside vendors.
- Perform all work in accordance with applicable quality industry standards (e.g., NEC, UL 508) and established safety procedures (e.g., NFPA 70E, Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out).
- Occasionally troubleshoot and/or repair/upgrade manufacturing equipment, as needed.
- Occasionally add new electrical drops and run network cables for facilities, as needed.
- High School Diploma.
- At least 2 years of experience wiring PLC‑automated equipment skids; ability to read, follow, and revise rung‑style electrical schematics.
- College or technical degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory and components, including PLCs, relays, DC power supplies/converters/UPS, signal converters, transducers/transmitters, control valves, solenoid valves, servo drives and motors.
- Knowledge of UL 508A, NEC, NFPA 70E standards; UL 508 training/certification preferred.
- Proficiency with Windows PCs for installing and setting up PLC and HMI software following provided work instructions.
- Ability to use electrical hand tools (cutting, crimping, stripping) and related power tools (drilling).
- Ability to solder multi‑conductor cables to DB9 connectors (serial communications).
