Job Title:
Sanitation Lead
Shift: 3rd shift – 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM (including weekend work)
OverviewThe Sanitation Lead coordinates the assignments and duties of sanitation technicians within specified production areas (High Care, Ready Meals, or Savory). The role involves training and coaching team members, inspecting equipment for cleaning quality, and reporting performance concerns to management.
Responsibilities- Support onboarding and orientation of employees, providing continual coaching.
- Train and educate sanitation personnel in safety practices, GMPs, test methods, and related procedures.
- Review daily sanitation reports and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Coordinate assignment of duties and train team members on proper use of PPE, SDS information, and equipment cleaning procedures.
- Observe strict sanitation specifications and procedures of team members.
- Collaborate with Sanitation Department Leads to address potential food safety or quality issues.
- Assist in identifying root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
- Enforce safety through constant observation and coaching of team members.
- Interact with production supervisors of preceding and following shifts to ensure smooth continuity and transition of tasks.
- Ensure sanitation activities are completed on time per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Promote workplace safety procedures and model safe work practices.
- Coordinate and conduct weekly safety training and maintain required training records.
- Maintain working knowledge of all equipment and tools while observing sanitation and safety precautions.
- Perform only job functions for which you have been trained and fully understand.
- Adhere to company attendance policies; punctuality required. Overtime and weekend work will be necessary based on business needs.
- May perform other duties as needed.
- Proficiency in sanitizing, quality assurance, food safety, cleaning, test methods, and CAPA.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flawless execution and accountability.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum high school education required; one‑year college or technical certificate preferred.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to function under highly stressful conditions.
- Bilingual proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) is an advantage.
Work in temperatures ranging from sub‑0° to 85°F. Position is for the 3rd shift (8 PM–4:30 AM), including weekend work, with no more than 40 hours per week.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position in Carson, CA. Fully onsite.
Pay And BenefitsHourly pay: $24.25 to $24.25 per hour.
