Plant Operator

• You will ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Long Beach and El Segundo CO2 plants, working in a team environment to set priorities and complete activities with minimal supervision
• Understand and follow Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) principles, safe work permit processes, policies, and procedures while complying with all government and Linde environmental permits, regulations, and policies
• Support both the Long Beach and El Segundo CO2 facilities as part of this full-time Southern California position
• And you will assist with the training and development of new employees and complete all assigned LMS training modules and OJT within established timelines
• Understand Production KPIs and work toward achieving established goals
• Understand the theoretical aspects of the process and adjust controls to achieve desired flows, pressures, and purities while understanding P&IDs and control loop input-output logic
• Ensure customer quality requirements are met for all products and maintain the Quality Program
• Further, you will monitor equipment efficiency, including cooler approaches, water temperature rise, and unit efficiency, and conduct cooling tower water tests, making necessary adjustments to maintain proper control
• Understand and follow all SMPs, SOPs, COPs, OSSs, Operations Alerts, and Technical Bulletins
• Understand and resolve fill zone issues where required and understand analyzer operating parameters for calibrations and troubleshooting, including reference gas flows and product gas flows
• Conduct daily plant rounds and maintain building, grounds, and equipment
• And you will monitor and communicate contractor activities in applicable areas when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• You have a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in applied sciences or equivalent apprenticeship preferred
• Previous experience in a continuous chemical operations environment
• Self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Relevant computer and technical skills
• You have ability to work overtime and weekends as required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Current and valid driver's license
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, working in tight and enclosed spaces, and wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
