Title:
Quality Assurance Technician Responsibilities:
Work hours and days assigned
Follow all safety rules
Enforce GMP rules
Complete daily task as assigned
Duties:
Monitor the facility and make recommendations for maintaining equipment and building that are less than adequate for food safety.
Have direct communication with ingredient suppliers on as needed for deviation ingredient specification.
Physical inspection of incoming ingredients and or monitoring the dry and frozen warehouse incoming information.
Write rejection notification to supplier when non food contact items are unacceptable.
Batching observations, with random weighing of the spices and watching the mixing of products.
Monitor the lines as product is processed with weighing the subassemblies and final product, taking temperature of the fillings and final product before packaging in the final pack.
Monitoring final product code date and the packaging to verify the correctness of the product.
Monitor GMP’s daily to help the supervisors realize if there is use for further training of employees.
Routinely monitor the metal detector equipment to assure of its proper functioning.
Record freezers and coolers temperature hourly to enforce the safety of our products
Document weekly scales standardized and quarterly calibration by an out side service
Document weekly standardized thermometers with a certified thermometer monthly
Do shelf-life testing of new plates and sealing materials
Essential job functions1-2 years’ experience
Bilingual (English /Spanish)
Word, Excel or similar software knowledge
Work hours and days assigned
Work in production environment below 50 degrees, enter coolers as require
Occasional bending, stooping, turning, twisting motion.
Constant walking
Stand up work
Work around equipment and machinery
Work with metal detector
Work on wet floor, wearing slip-resistant water-proof footwear
Good oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills
