Performs detailed dimensional inspection for customer over‑inspection. Performs Source Inspection on behalf of customers as defined in customer delegation procedures. Completes defective material reports, data processing move transactions and first article reports as required. Communicates with department supervision as necessary. Inspector may be held to established quality standards. Incumbent will have control to make minor adjustments to the process after tasks are assigned.

• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and customer requirements.
• Must utilize all precision measuring equipment and techniques as applicable, including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Request N.D.T. evaluations as necessary.
• Use statistical sampling plans; complete/verify various inspection reports—including S.P.C. charts, first article reports, and defective material and test reports.
• Complete data processing move transactions as required.
• Communicate any daily activities that may need to be passed forward to the next shift.
• Must know how to read blueprints, and to use different gages, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, threat gages, pain gages, high gages, specs, protrusion blocks, etc.
• Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required. Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross‑training or employee development plan.

• Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine documentation. Ability to speak clearly and effectively with managers, supervisors and coworkers.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Syteline Manufacturing software.
