About the RoleThe Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring production processes and inspecting finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports production teams by identifying defects, verifying specifications, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Perform in-line inspections checks during filling and packaging operations, including:
- Fill weight/volume verification
- Label placement and alignment
- Lot code accuracy and legibility
- Vacuum testing on seal integrity to check for leaking
- Record inspection results accurately in quality logs and systems
- Identify and report defects or non-conforming materials
- Conduct line clearances before production startup to verify the correct materials, components, labels, and documentation are in place
- Verify production equipment, scales, and measuring devices are calibrated and suitable for use prior to production
- Collect product samples for testing, retention, or customer submissions as required
- Review work orders, batch records, specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance throughout production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and PPE requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrates integrity and consistently follows company policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Maintains a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all inspections and documentation
- Takes ownership of assigned responsibilities and is accountable for the quality of work performed
- Communicates clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments
- Exhibits strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills when identifying and reporting quality issues
- Maintains a positive attitude and adapts to changing production schedules and business needs
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism when handling quality records, customer requirements, and proprietary information
- Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the workplace
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, manufacturing inspection preferred
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and quality standards
- Experience performing line clearances, in-process inspections, and final product inspections
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and inspection criteria
- Familiarity with sampling methods, AQL inspection techniques, and defect classification
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality defects and nonconforming materials
- Experience using measuring equipment such as scales, calipers, rulers, torque machine, and other inspection tools
- Ability to accurately complete quality documentation and inspection records
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are an asset
