We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for aerospace applications. This role involves software architecture, system integration, testing, validation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace software experience, particularly with RTCA DO-178 standards, embedded systems development, and software verification/testing.

• Lead the architecture, design, development, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams on hardware design and implementation.
• Develop embedded software designs from functional requirements.
• Review design block diagrams, functional flows, software models, and test reports.
• Implement test applications to support software integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Evaluate industry standards and emerging technologies to help define innovative aerospace products.
• Create Statements of Work (SOWs) and purchase requisitions for contractors and outsourced work.
• Manage contractor deliverables and support supplier coordination activities.
• Support configuration management, documentation, and change control processes.
• Participate in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and product improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with client policies and aerospace development standards.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering or related experience.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience in a configuration-controlled environment preferred.
• Strong aerospace industry experience required.
• Experience with RTCA DO-178B or DO-178C standards is mandatory.
• Experience with embedded applications, power electronics, and communication systems preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with embedded software and firmware systems, microcontrollers, sensors, and human-machine interfaces.
• Experience with software testing, validation, debugging, and lab integration activities.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, VB Script, LabVIEW, and Perl.
• Knowledge of analog/digital electronics, control systems, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with test equipment development and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of industry standards including RTCA DO-178B / DO-178C, MIL-STD-810.

• Aerospace experience with RTCA DO-178B or DO-178C
