The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at CSUDH invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized applicants for a pool of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach appointments. CSUDH seeks candidates with experience in coaching and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the University’s mission, vision, and core values.

The Athletics Department administers an intercollegiate athletic program sponsoring four Men’s teams and six Women’s teams. CSUDH competes in NCAA Division II in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Functions include public relations, sports information, athletic training, fundraising, scheduling of campus facilities, and recruitment and retention of student-athletes. The department emphasizes academic standards and the personal growth of student-athletes.

The assistant coach is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Women’s Basketball program in accordance with NCAA, CCAA, and University rules, regulations, and policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruiting, scheduling, planning, organizing, fundraising, monitoring academic performance, and promoting intercollegiate athletics; other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, or if it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Initial salary for COACHING ASSISTANT - 12 MONTH is based on professional experience and educational background and is determined by the hiring department. As of July 2024, the classification salary range is: COACH ASST-12 (Job Code 2382): $6,288 - $7,658.
