Schedule: 5 days onsite (4 days onsite during summer schedule)
Duration: Minimum 5-month contract with potential for permanent hire
Compensation: $45-48/hour
Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team on an interim basis to provide coverage during a planned leave of absence. This individual will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and assisting with a variety of accounting projects.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, excellent Excel proficiency, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and support general ledger accounting functions.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and related reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting support and close-related deliverables.
- Participate in ad hoc accounting projects and reporting initiatives, including periodic operational reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate and comply with company policies and GAAP.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting operations and special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a proactive, go-getter mentality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Adaptable and eager to contribute beyond core accounting responsibilities.
