We’re partnering with a well-established company with 70+ years of experience supporting commercial, industrial, and utility projects throughout the region. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Mid-Level Electrical Estimator to support an active and expanding pipeline. This is a strong opportunity for an estimator who knows the electrical trade, values accuracy and accountability, and is looking for long-term stability with a respected contractor (not a revolving-door environment).
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Prepare detailed and competitive electrical estimates across plan/spec, design-build, and service work
- Perform take-offs for power distribution, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, and controls
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for scope, risk, and constructability
- Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Develop bid proposals, alternates, and value engineering options
- Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed
- Collaborate closely with senior estimators, project managers, and engineering teams
- Support smooth handoff from estimating to project execution
- Track historical cost data to support future bids
- 8+ years of electrical estimating experience (commercial / industrial / institutional)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and installation methods
- Hands-on experience with Accubid, Trimble, Con Est, or similar estimating software
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Stable work history preferred — career progression and reasonable moves are welcomed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (experience matters most)
- 100% onsite role in NJ (with site visits as needed)
- Early start schedule (7:00–7:30am; flexibility to 8:00am)
