CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Production
Our client, located in Carteret, NJ, is seeking a skilled and experienced 5-Axis Machinist to join their precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of multi-axis machining processes, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- - Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machines to produce precision components.
- - Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.
- - Develop and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Solid Works, or equivalent).
- - Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machinery.
- - Inspect finished components to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
- - Optimize machining processes for efficiency and productivity while maintaining product quality.
- - Monitor and manage tool wear and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate machining.
- - Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other machinists to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety protocols.
- - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate’s degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- - Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with at least 2 years specializing in 5-axis machining.
- - Proficiency in programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, DMG MORI, etc.).
- - Strong understanding of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
- - Knowledge of material properties and machining techniques for wood a plus.
- - Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues effectively.
- - Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- - Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- - Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- - Standing, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- - Comfortable working in a noisy and high-precision environment.
The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000.00 - $. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
