Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. GHC currently offers over 30 areas of study with associate degree and bachelor’s degree options both in the classroom and online.

This position provides enrollment services support and serves as an initial point of contact for the campus/site. Responsibilities include understanding, supporting, and carrying out the college’s mission, vision, and values and complying with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies. The role involves greeting visitors both on campus and virtually; acting as a central referral resource, providing basic information and assistance regarding the college;
serving as a general representative in the phone queue; hosting the virtual HUB; referring prospective and continuing students, as well as community visitors, to appropriate personnel; providing information and assistance regarding admissions, financial aid, and enrollment services; receiving and screening enrollment documentation; scanning documents and preparing for courier; monitoring and responding to the 411 Ticketing System; reviewing and forwarding incoming email to appropriate personnel;
assisting students with general computer and printer issues and resetting personal identification numbers and passwords; escorting students to appropriate offices; performing cashier duties; receiving and processing payments; preparing daily financial reports; and serving as instructional site custodian for petty cash. The position also takes photos and processes student and performs other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years is also required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of federal, state, University System of Georgia and Board of Regents and institutional policies and procedures; knowledge of general information in the areas of GHC admissions, registration, financial aid, and student resources; knowledge of campus/site specific information & practices; knowledge of office practices and procedures; knowledge of computers and job-related software programs to include Microsoft Office Suite;
skill in the provision of customer services; and skill in oral and written communication.
