Job SummaryThis position will play a vital role in promoting Georgia Highlands College (GHC) by creating engaging and dynamic content to enhance student retention and recruitment efforts. The position is responsible for showcasing life at GHC through social media platforms, ensuring the content stays on-brand and helps maintain top‑of‑mind awareness for the college. Work assignments and events may be scheduled on any GHC campus site.
Responsibilities- Understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
- Capture photos and videos at events, on‑campus activities, and other college‑related happenings.
- Create reels, You Tube Shorts, and other short‑form video content highlighting GHC's student experience.
- Develop creative content strategies aligned with GHC branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to schedule and post content on GHC's official social media platforms.
- Serve as an ambassador for GHC, showcasing the college's culture, diversity, and academic opportunities.
- Ensure all content represents the values and mission of GHC.
- Track engagement metrics to identify successful content strategies.
- Provide feedback to the Marketing team on student trends and preferences.
- Partner with students, faculty, and staff to identify key stories and events to highlight.
- Attend GHC events to document and promote activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and current GHC undergraduate student with:
- Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) currently being met.
- Current‑Year FAFSA on file with all verifications and any other requirements complete.
- Currently enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours (in most instances).
- Eligible for Federal Work–Study.
Some prior experience is preferred but not required. Job‑specific training will be provided.
Proposed SalarySalary is $12 per hour, up to 19 hours per week.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Knowledge and ability to operate Microsoft Office.
- Critical thinking, decision making, problem solving within area of responsibility.
- Understanding of customer service with experience.
- Ability to follow specific directions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
- Ability to work independently on a task and utilize appropriate critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving within area of responsibility.
- Enthusiastic about social media trends, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing (experience with apps like Canva, Adobe Spark, or Cap Cut is a plus).
- Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, and You Tube.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and stay organized.
