• Provides instructional assistance in the classroom.
• Assists in evaluating student needs and preparing appropriate materials and lessons in collaboration with certified personnel.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom.
• Supports teacher in preparing materials for instruction within the content limits of the system curriculum guides.
• Helps implement a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities to the greatest extent possible.
• Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assists with school‑wide supervision (e.g., hallways, lunchrooms, bus loading/unloading).
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Performs other duties as requested and required.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must hold or be eligible to hold a Georgia Paraprofessional License through the Georgia Processional Standards Commission.
• Must obtain the PARA certificate within 30 days of hire recommendation.

• Exercising sound, independent judgment, including handling of confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical demands: stand and walk a minimum of six hours; lift or carry up to 25 pounds and pull up to 150 pounds.
• Ability and knowledge to work as part of a classroom team to support student learning and activities.

• High School or Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
