STATE PROFILE

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, provides entry-level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.

• Perform routine testing of various materials used in highway construction.
• Perform calculations and record materials test results.
• Operate and maintain various testing equipment and tools used in construction materials testing.

STATE ENTRY

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED

• A valid Georgia Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to learn to perform routine support duties for assigned program area (i.e., construction, surveying, traffic operations, laboratory testing or data collection).
• Ability to learn to operate equipment and/or instruments as required.
• Ability to perform laboratory and/or field sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations correctly.
• Commitment to providing quality customer service.
