Summary
We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to work at our Cartersville, GA facility. This position is responsible for supporting Qcells in achieving compliance with federal and state environmental and safety regulations, and internal Qcells EHS policies. The Environmental Engineer collaborates with the plant on air, water, and waste projects, ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications, and 3rd-party audits. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be part of a new plant design, build, and startup in Cartersville, GA.

- Efficiently manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and complete projects within budget.
- Generate, prepare, and draft environmental and safety reports.
- Resolve environmental issues related to water, air, and waste regulations.
- Prepare supporting documentation and reports for compliance and permitting purposes.
- Collaborate with plant personnel and other specialists to address environmental challenges.
- Conduct inspections of plant facilities to assess operational effectiveness and ensure compliance.
- Develop and deliver relevant compliance training sessions.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with federal, state, and local plant municipalities on environmental compliance matters.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the plant's environmental inquiries, inspections, and audits.
- Prepare responses to inspections/audits and oversee the correction of any identified deficiencies.
- Champion a sustainable culture of excellence by fostering commitment and engaging employees.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing systems to minimize environmental impacts.
- Assess potential environmental risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Stay updated on legislative changes in environmental regulations and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Occupational Health and Safety.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in generating, preparing, and writing compliance reports and managing budgets.
- Knowledgeable of ISO 14001, 45001 requirements.
- Previous experience successfully leading internal and 3rd-party audits.
- Experience in preparing environmental reports and plans.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage/support multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Technical writing skills.
- Presentation and training experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
