  • Collaborate with planning and design teams to develop tooling and equipment that enable efficient production methods.
  • Work with vendors to define equipment specifications, procure materials or parts, and evaluate vendor‑supplied equipment against quality and performance standards.
  • Apply statistical methods to assess equipment capability and support forecasting of maintenance or mold repair requirements.
  • Research and analyze equipment design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility and recommend design approaches.
  • Design mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems and ensure proper interfaces between machines, hardware, and software.
  • Plan and direct engineering personnel in fabrication, testing, and development of control apparatus, methods, and procedures.
  • Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities to optimize machine utilization and recommend modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
Must-Have Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (required).
  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within automotive or motor vehicle parts production.
  • Proficiency in CAD for mechanical design and drawing release.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electromechanical system design, including hydraulic, thermal, and machine interfaces.
  • Experience with vendor relations, equipment specification, and procurement processes.
  • Practical application of statistical methods (e.g., SPC) to evaluate equipment capability and inform maintenance/repair decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead fabrication/installation activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement production solutions.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Experience with PLC programming and control systems integration.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, utilities, and plant‑level systems.
  • Background in robotics, automation, or controls engineering used in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with GD&T, FEA, or advanced simulation tools.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications in manufacturing/quality engineering.
  • Previous experience in supplier quality assurance, vendor auditing, or equipment qualification.
